Let's Tateru

"Tateru" (็‚นใฆใ‚‹) means performing a tea ceremony and making matcha in Japanese. We hope to bring relaxing, healthy, and pleasant 'tateru' moments to your life.

Three Centuries of History

Tateru tea trees are nurtured on a family-owned tea field established in the mid-18th century in Kyoto, and these cherished fields have been handed down through generations. Please enjoy the taste of our traditional and authentic Japanese teas.

100% Certified Organic

All of our tea selections are certified organic by JAS (Japanese Agricultural Standards) in Japan. We take pride in offering you the finest quality teas, ensuring that every sip is both pure and delightful.

Made in Uji, Kyoto

With Tateru Matcha, you will enjoy tasting authentic traditional Japanese teas from the Uji region in Kyoto, an area renowned for its rich history and esteemed reputation in tea cultivation.

Traditional Hand-Picking Technique

Along with the inheritance of 3 centuries of tea fields, our family-owned tea field has preserved the traditional cultivating method known as 'Tezumi.' Tsumiko, a tea-picking specialist, carefully hand-picks each leaf one by one to select only the fresh, young leaves, avoiding old leaves and stems. This ensures you enjoy the rich, deep 'umami' flavor and exceptional quality of our ceremonial-grade matcha.
